Town: Gravelbourg is a nice town with a rich heritage. It's roots are Francophone and till today Gravelbourg has a strong Francophone representation. The town promotes itself as "A touch of Europe on the prairies" and tries to include this theme as much as possible, where ever possibel. The co-cathedral is a historical site and the parish designated French. The town of Gravelbourg has it's own hospital and operates as a central hub for the south region. Approx. 1300 people reside in town. Many businesses service the people of Gravelbourg. Basically everything normally needed can be purchased in town. Gravelbourg has 4 churches: Roman Catholic, Lutheran Church; United Church and Church of Christ. A Mennonithe Brethren church is located in Woodrow (31 km) and the Alliance Church can be found in Assiniboia (62 km). The nearest large centers are Swift Current (135 km); Moose Jaw (115 km) and Regina (190 km). There are 3 physicians in town and a dentist. Every month a docter comes to Gravelbourg to take a weekend shift. This docter stays in the motel. The town has two schools. Public and French. Both schools offer K-12 education.
